So you're considering a switch of your accounting provider. Here are some things it could help to think through.
With accounting, there's an initial learning curve for someone to learn the set of tasks that make up your accounting function. Once those tasks are learned, the accountant repeats those tasks monthly, hopefully keeping an eye out for any variations in the business that month that would require adjusting any of those tasks. If that's the secret sauce of how accounting works, why not consider switching to a lower cost, effective provider to do these tasks?
If you have the chance to reset now - you could switch to:
1) a lower cost provider for the long-term,
2) a more qualified provider (i.e. a CPA),
3) a high tech, driven process expert who could make sure that your accounting process is optimized for what you're trying to accomplish.
Well, the good news is - Hustle Accounting is available to you if you're thinking about changing your accounting provider!
Other considerations to think of in this transition:
The goal of an efficient & effective back-office is to have the right person doing the right tasks at the right time. A powerful way to accomplish this is to group similar tasks together. In this process of transitioning your accounting, if there are many low-level administrative tasks that need to be performed, it may make the most sense to pool those tasks to an administrative assistant - transitioning the tasks from several different people who are doing them today. Reliable administrative assistants who are managed well can provide an important function for your business at a low cost. Depending on your needs and office space, it could make the most sense to hire an employee to be an administrative assistant, or to find a good virtual administrative assistant on sites like Fiverr or Upwork.
Over the years we've found it to be most common for Accountants to stumble into doing some low-level administrative work coupled with some accounting tasks - if it makes sense for your business you could separate the 2 functions, leaving the accounting to be done by the accounting expert, and the junior administrative tasks to be done by the administrative assistant.
